Daytona Beach and Jackie Robinson Ballpark are home to the Daytona Tortugas, a proud affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. In addition to an HD videoboard, the Daytona Tortugas team plays on a natural grass playing surface. The Daytona Tortugas are popular a Low-A minor league team with a strong local following. Jackie Robinson Ballpark, which is designated as a National Commemorative Site and part of the African American Civil Rights Network, is located on the riverfront City Island in historic downtown Daytona Beach. It also plays host to Bethune-Cookman University and many other sports and community events throughout the year.
