Cypress Head is one of the best municipal golf courses in the South, delivering the experience of a resort at a fraction of the price. The quality at Cypress Head begins with the design, which was crafted by Arthur Hills, one of the game’s esteemed architects.
Operated by Kemper Sports, a management company that counts Bandon Dunes and Chambers Bay among its stable of courses, Cypress Head is committed to the quality of experience it provides visiting golfers. With demanding forced carries at a minimum and ample room to hit the ball off the tee, it is a player-friendly layout.
A 2015 renovation project that included the installation of new greens, ensured the course would continue to be home to some of the Daytona Beach area’s best and smoothest putting surfaces.
The course’s signature hole is the par 4 14th hole, a beautiful dogleg left that leaves golfers with the ultimate risk-reward decision: how much of the dogleg and the lake do you want to challenge? The decision could swing a match, but it’s a great one.
Cypress Head also allows kids 16 and under to play for free with a paying adult, so bring the whole family.
