To bring this vision into reality for the years 2028 and beyond, we are participating in the national bid process to attract the National Folk Festival to our beautiful community. As part of this bid process, we must secure initial commitments of $500,000 in total from various partners within the Daytona Beach area. Toward this goal, the Halifax Area Advertising Authority (dba the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau) has already committed over $100,000.
The National Folk Festival can attract more than 100,000 attendees during a 3-day period. It can provide $30-$40 million in economic impact and serve as a cultural powerhouse that unites communities in renewing civic pride, strengthening community collaborations, and spurring investments in community infrastructure and public spaces. Residents, civic leaders, funders, and festival visitors alike will all be filled with a new sense of what is possible in Daytona Beach after experiencing this powerful, transformative, and collaborative community celebration.
