Through April 19, 2020 - Billie Holiday at Sugar Hill
Only Florida stop for this national exhibit of rarely seen photographs
The travelling exhibition, Billie Holiday at Sugar Hill, makes its only Florida appearance in 2020 with a stop at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach. Jerry Dantzic’s photographs offer a vivid and intimate portrait of one of the 20th century's most iconic musical figures: the consummate jazz and blues singer Billie Holiday (1915-1959). Rarely seen photographs capture Holiday's life just two years before she died at the age of 44. Organized by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service, in collaboration with the Jerry Dantzic Archives.
April 4-5, 2020 - Art Festival at ONE DAYTONA
Inaugural art festival
ONE DAYTONA is hosting its inaugural art festival – Brushes, Bites & Blues – in partnership with Gallery 500.The juried and non-juried outdoor fine art show offers a weekend of art and culture highlighted by multiple fine artists and fine craft artisans, live entertainment and a vintage car show. With $15,000 in cash awards, the festival is expected to attract fine artists nationwide. The event is FREE and open to the public.
May 8-10, 2020 - Welcome to Rockville
Florida’s biggest rock fest moves to Daytona Beach
After welcoming sold-out crowds of 90,000 the past three years, Florida’s biggest rock music festival experience will move to its new home in Daytona Beach at Daytona International Speedway, May 8-10, 2020. The 10th anniversary celebration of Welcome to Rockville will feature a star-studded line-up, including Metallica, with the World Center of Racing as the backdrop.
August 29, 2020 - Coke Zero Sugar 400
New date, new era of intensity
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 is moving from the July 4th holiday weekend to August 29 in 2020. The Coke Zero Sugar 400 is a cornerstone event on the NASCAR schedule and with the date change will now be the regular-season finale. In 2020, the 160-lap, 400-mile race will provide one last exciting opportunity for drivers to qualify for the NASCAR playoffs. While race day takes place on August 29, Daytona International Speedway celebrates all weekend long. From August 27-29, fans enjoy the festivities and exploring the World’s Most Famous Beach. Be a part of one of the most anticipated races of the 2020 season as the stars and cars of the NASCAR Cup Series battle for victory under the lights.
Fall 2020
Exciting new attraction
Speedway Indoor Karting (SIK) will open a new multi-level indoor karting attraction just west of Daytona International Speedway. The multi-level facility is set to open in Fall 2020. Featuring state-of-the-art electric powered karts from CRG, guests will have a full racing experience on the 16-turn road course featuring multiple elevation changes and a slick tri-oval. With both adult and junior karts available, experiences for everyone from novices to diehard fans, as well as aspiring race drivers will be available. The facility is the second location for business owners, former IndyCar driver and team owner Sarah Fisher and her husband Andy O’Gara. The first is located in Speedway, IN, near Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
