DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With the announcement that beginning November 8, international travelers will be able to enter the U.S. by air and by land, the Daytona Beach Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) is hoping more Canadian travelers will be returning to the Daytona Beach area this winter.

When the U.S. land borders closed to non-essential travel during the pandemic, it meant that most Canadians were not able to take their Florida winter vacations.

“Visitors who come to the Daytona Beach area for the winter months, affectionately known as ‘snowbirds,’ are vital to our destination,” said CVB Executive Director Lori Campbell Baker. “We love our Canadian visitors, and we are excited to be able to welcome them back.”

With the announcement, the CVB is relaunching its media plan aimed at the Canadian market, which will include a list of special offers for Canadian visitors.

“With the announcement that U.S. borders are opening to vaccinated international travelers, and the news that American Airlines is adding seasonal holiday flights from Philadelphia (PHL) and Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW) to Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB), the horizon for winter tourism in Daytona Beach is looking very positive,” said Campbell Baker.
