DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., -- Facial-hair enthusiasts from all over the United States will descend upon the Daytona Beach area for the 2023 Honest Amish National Beard and Moustache Championships on Nov. 4 at Peabody Auditorium.

The full activity schedule will run Thursday, Nov. 2 through Sunday, Nov. 5 with the championships slated to take place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Peabody Auditorium from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. More than 300 participants are expected to compete in nearly 50 classes in four different categories.

Competitor registration is open at www.nationalbeardchampionships.com. Spectator tickets will be available for $10 at the door. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

“This is such a unique event, and we’re absolutely thrilled that they have chosen the Daytona Beach area for their national championships,” said Lori Campbell Baker, Executive Director of the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). “Beard aficionados - and their many fans - will be traveling to the Daytona Beach area from throughout the United States for these championships. We know they will have a positive, one-of-a-kind experience and we hope they schedule some extra time, to enjoy all the new attractions, restaurants, and activities that our community has to offer.”

“We are excited to bring the championships to Daytona Beach,” said Bryan Nelson, Creative Director of the event organizer at Beard Team USA. “This will be the first time that the Nationals have been held in Florida and we are looking forward to seeing the fabulous local facial hair that the Sunshine State has to offer. We have over 45 divisions that cover almost every style of facial hair, from Moustaches to sideburns, from short beards to long beards, and even a few craft divisions where women (and some men) will compete with their own artistic creations.  There is something for everyone and it is a surprisingly fun way to spend an afternoon.”

There will be Facial Hair Care Professionals on site to help style and give out great advice on care and maintenance, as well as product demos and samples from Honest Amish, the Global leader in men’s facial hair grooming products.

For the second straight year at the championships, participants will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for Longest Beard Chain. At last year’s championships in Casper, Wyoming, with 69 men joined together at the beard, the record of 150 feet, 10.75 inches was set, more than two times longer than the previous record achieved in Germany in 2007. The Daytona Beach attempt to break the record will include separate attempts for new World Records including Moustache Chain, Partial Beard Chain, and a few more. These attempts will take place Friday, November 3 at Joe’s Crab Shack on the Daytona Beach Pier.

Previous sites for the Honest Amish National Beard and Moustache Championships include Brooklyn, N.Y., Nashville, Tenn. and Scranton, Penn.
