About
Capt. Barry specializes in back water fishing on the Tomoka River, Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River and St. Johns River. Fish for trout, redfish, snook, bass, crappie and tarpon. The Captain Captain Barry has been an avid fisherman for 40 years fishing most of the states in the U.S., all the provinces of Canada and many countries in Europe. His first experience as a guide was in Cape Britain Island, Nova Scotia, Canada, fly fishing for salmon and trout in the mid 1970's. In 1986, he had a charter boat in Michigan fishing for salmon, steelhead, browns and lake trout. Then in 1990, he began permanently fishing the east coast of Florida as a charter captain and guide. Captain Barry is a full time guide and expert in finding fish on the shallow salt flats of east central Florida. Due to his great location, you or your party will have some of the best fresh water fishing available in the United States. Light tackle fly fishing or spinning is available for all species and a fishing license is provided for each fisherman. Captain Barry is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain, a member of the "Big Trouble Fishing Team", currently participating in the FLW Redfish Tour and a member of the Coastal Conservation Association {CCA}. The Boat Over 30 years ago a boat was born and bred on the tidal flats of the Florida Keys. That boat was the 18 Maverick and it was to become one of the most important milestones in the evolution of light tackle angling. These early Mavericks literally defined a new way to fish for extremely wary shallow water quarry like bonefish, permit and tarpon. As the sport of shallow water fishing grew beyond a handful of determined anglers and guides, the Maverick name became synonymous with leadership in innovation, uncompromised quality and bulletproof performance. Captain Barry believes in high quality and performance in all his equipment and for that reason his boat of choice is the Maverick 18 Master Angler. The boat is powered by a Yamaha 150 HPDI.
