Rolex 24 At DAYTONA

Originally known as the 24 Hours of DAYTONA, the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA is a 24-hour sports car endurance race held annually that kicks off the new IMSA Weather Tech SportsCar Championship season at Daytona International Speedway. There are traditionally around 60 cars in the field competing for the overall victory as well as four different classes. Each team trades shifts between three and five drivers. Types of cars include Porsches, Ferraris, Corvettes, Mazda, Fords, Lamborghinis, Lexus and Cadillac. Mark your calendars for January 26-27, 2019.
Since the early 1960s, the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA has garnered big name winners such as Hurley Haywood, Scott Pruett and Bob Wollek. Established in 1962, the race is run on a 3.56-mile combined road course and is typically held the last weekend of January marking the first major U.S. automobile competition of the year. Since 1991, Rolex, a watch company, has been the prestigious sponsor earning the organization naming rights. Therefore, giving it the title "Rolex 24 At DAYTONA."
All winning drivers in each class receive special Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. The Rolex 24 At DAYTONA features over 2,000 miles of high-speed action while representing dozens of countries and more than 70 champions from all kinds of racing.
Garage Pass, Fun Fan Experiences and Taste of the 24
Check out the event's "Garage Pass" where you can rub elbows with drivers and racing teams while taking in the adrenaline-inducing sounds of blaring engines and burning rubber. There's also various camping options and fan hospitality such as the Champion's Club, Rolex 24 Lounge and Taste of the 24 where revelers can enjoy live music and food samplings from 24 of Daytona's finest restaurants.
For more than five decades, Daytona International Speedway's 24-hour race has proved a fun-filled adventure for race fans and all other Daytona Beach area visitors.
