About
The Halifax Historical Society and Museum is the oldest historical society and museum in Volusia County and is home to the largest research collection in Volusia County dedicated to the local history of the Halifax Country (Greater Daytona Beach’s History Museum).
Scheduled for the months of October to December will be exhibition on both the nostalgia of the “World’s Most Famous Beach” and the historic salute to the 20,000 Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) that trained locally on our beaches during World War II. All of this in time for the Florida Association of Museum’s Annual Conference being held in Daytona Beach.
Our home base is in the 1910 Merchants Bank building, the only building with Beaux-Arts architecture surviving in Volusia County.
The museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
