About
Artist, Teacher, and Visual Art Curriculum Specialist, Bryce Hammond presents a powerful and timely solo exhibition created in collaboration with students over the past seven years. Originally conceptualized around a body of work entitled “Beautiful and Broken”, this unique exhibition took a U-turn when the 2020 pandemic brought the collaboration to a halt. Content and context had to be rediscovered. “Beautiful and Broken” had to be re-imagined, re-purposed, and re-built through the lens of a SECOND CHANCE.
With artworks including teacher calendars, student hall passes, and architectural subject matter, Hammond went back to unfinished work and repurposed, recycled, and re-imagined the outcomes. He revisited unfinished multimedia projects and completed them. He went to the restaurants he had recently designed, now closed due to COVID-19, and pulled all of the work to show in a re-contextualized setting. Everything in this exhibition, including the artist himself, aims to explore a SECOND CHANCE.
