Did you know there were 141 documented women lighthouse keepers and that the U.S. Lighthouse Service was the first federal agency to hire women in occupations other than clerical, custodial or educational roles? Docent Jackie Mann will present a first-person interpretation of Lighthouse Keeper Ida Lewis and discuss other women lighthouse keepers at this free presentation being held at the New Smyrna Regional Library on April 27th.
