About

Join OMAM guest curator Ruth Grim for a guided trip to Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, a national historic landmark and one of Florida’s most unique public gardens. Designed by renowned American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr., the 50-acre gardens feature a beautiful architectural treasure, soaring high above the Florida landscape, that also happens to be a giant musical instrument. Inside this 1920s era art deco and neo-Gothic gem is a 60-pound carillon of stationary bells that are played daily by a Carillonneur and can be heard throughout the extensive garden sanctuary.

The visit will consist of a tour of the gardens by Brendan Huggins, Bok Tower Gardens Horticultural Specialist, the daily carillon concert, lunch at the Blue Palmetto Café in the visitor center, and plenty of time to enjoy the gardens and the stunning views from atop Iron Mountain, one of the highest spots in Florida.

The chartered bus will depart OMAM promptly at 8:30 a.m. and will return by 6 p.m.
