A Florida Christmas Remembered is a delightful day for kids and grownups at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement! There will be children's' make and take crafts, some are free and some require a small fee. Visit Santa & Mrs. Claus and see the Elves. Mail a letter to Santa from the Historical Huntington Post Office. Experience Christmas with Lucretia at the Historic Underhill House. Join professional storyteller Joanna Demarest as she presents Mrs. Lucretia Underhill, sharing how this pioneer family celebrated Christmas in Volusia county’s oldest brick home. And at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., Lucretia shares the stories of the scandals that rocked Barberville in 1896. Stroller Carolers, Dulcimer Concert and many folk artists will perform traditional and original Christmas music. Make your own trinket basket in the Pine Needle Basket Weaving Class with Larry Paxton. There will be desserts and cookie decorating. The Model Railroad will be operating in the Pierson Train Depot. Demonstrators will be demonstrating the art of blacksmithing, woodworking, weaving spinning, pottery, Letter Press printing, Morse Code and many more! The Summer Kitchen will be open serving up our famous Pork BBQ, Burgers and Hot Dogs. See you at the Settlement!
