The Ormond Beach Historical Society is pleased to announce The Three Chimneys Archaeology Site Family Day Open House and Dedication. The Three Chimneys Archaeology site is the oldest English Sugar Mill in the United States and it located here in Ormond Beach at 715 West Granada Boulevard. This site is on the National Register of Historic Places and is an educational resource that covers four centuries of multicultural and multinational history in Florida. Tours of the oldest English Sugar Mill in the United States, hands on activities for children and refreshments will be provided.
At 1:00 p.m. there will be a dedication ceremony for the newly-constructed permanent Distillery Canopy that was sponsored by Tom Massfeller and Nancy and Lowell Lohman. The goal of the Ormond Beach Historical Society is the preservation of this national treasure which was made possible through their generous donations.
