Looking for a way to experience the unique flavors of the Daytona Beach area? Great Tasting Tours seeks to offer just that with its range of tours featuring eclectic eateries and interesting sites. Located roughly 30 minutes from downtown Daytona Beach in the neighboring city of DeLand, Great Tasting Tours provides a sampling of food, brews, wines, hot spots and shops — the area certainly has no shortage of these! The company is owned and operated by longtime locals Robin and Larry French, and they are passionate about showing people the “real” Florida.

Tours begin at $59 per person for Thursday & Saturday, Sip & Shop Tours. Wednesday & Saturday, Sweet & Savory Tours are $79 per person, and Friday, Brews & Browse Tours are $69 per person. If you’ve enjoyed one tour style, join them for a different version, and return often for your favorites.

Have a big group in town for a family reunion or business trip? Great Tasting Tours also specializes in private tours — just ask in advance! Depending on the chosen venue and the weather, the tours combine a mix of both indoor and outdoor experiences. Rain or shine, it’s always a good time. Below, find the answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about the tours:

The list of venues changes all the time as they discover new things to share with their guests. Great Tasting Tours prides itself on having “something for everyone.” The Sip & Shop tour allows guests to explore an interesting list of carefully curated wines from a range of wine bars. You’ll find spots off the beaten path and will visit a number of unique shops along the way. For those who can’t decide between sweet and salty, the tour group also has a solution: the Sweet & Savory tour. And, craft beer lovers will especially enjoy the Brews & Browse tour, which offers an afternoon of cool breweries, one-of-a-kind bottled beers and entertaining stops.

No matter which tour you choose, you’ll have sample-sized portions at each of the eight or nine venues on the tour. In historic downtown DeLand, named “America’s Best Mainstreet,” there are 24 restaurants, eight arts and cultural venues, and 10 historic sites. In other words, there are plenty of venues to explore! From offbeat coffeehouses to grilled-cheese bars, and from retro boutiques to the county’s only meadery — the area’s eclectic mix offers endless opportunities for pleasant surprises.

Although the tours stay within a range of eight blocks, you’ll walk a total of about one mile. Translation: Leave your high heels and uncomfortable apparel at home!
