When did Daytona Bike Week first start?

Since the very first running of the Daytona 200 on January 24, 1937 — on the hard-packed, sunny beaches, no less — Bike Week has been a favorite American celebration. Since then, Bike Week has evolved into the world’s largest motorcycle event and is chock-full of vendors, food, live music, motorcycle shows, and the most epic group rides. Though much has changed since Ed Kretz won that inaugural race, the tradition and legacy of Bike Week live on.
