Besides Daytona Beach’s famous speedway and deep, expansive beaches, one of the city’s most iconic landmarks is the Daytona Beach Pier. The original pier constructed here was built entirely out of palm logs around the turn of the 20th century. It extended 600 feet into the ocean, but sadly burned down in 1920 in a devastating fire. A few years later, the remains were sold and the pier was rebuilt.

There are few better ways to enjoy the Daytona Beach area’s ample waterway-recreation opportunities — including dozens of miles of coastal Atlantic waters and lengthy stretches of the Intracoastal Waterway — than to get out on, over and into the waters in a boat. And whether you’re looking to reel in some trophies on a fishing charter, harness the powers of the winds in a chartered sailboat or simply grab a delicious meal, Port Orange’s Adventure Yacht Harbor offers a range of options.

And with 23 miles of expansive beaches, ride-able wave swells over a soft, shallow sandbar, and plenty of local surf shops that rent boards and offer lessons, Daytona Beach in particular is the perfect place to learn to surf.

As a kid, some of the very best memories are formed at summer camp. You can make new friends, dabble in a new interest or try your hand at a sport without committing to it for a year. School’s out, but the learning doesn’t have to stop!

Grab the confetti and cue the song — he put a ring on it! One of the most fun aspects of planning a wedding is the opportunity to share the event with the people who love you most.
