Trish Thompson: Process and Place Exhibition

This solo exhibition will feature Thompson's most recent work. For the artist, painting is a means of giving form to visual ideas. 'I am interested in the interaction of the painting as a two dimensional object and the illusion of the three dimensional world to which it refers.' Thompson makes use of heavy texture, shape and high contrast to remind the viewer that what they are seeing is a two-dimensional object in addition to using horizon lines and cast shadows to refer to the three-dimensional subject matter.
