Children's Summer Art Camp: Time Travelers - Session 7: 1986

9 a.m. - 2 p.m.,Tuesday - Friday; Atlantic Center for the Arts' Community Arts Center at Harris House, 214 Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach. 'Wild Style!' with Bryce Hammond. It's graffiti! It's art! It's self expression! Learn how graffiti has influenced some famous artists, and screen print, stencil, and style your own wild creations. 'What's Your Superpower?' with Brenda Loring-Smith. Bring out your inner Muscle Boy, Invisi-girl, or Super Stretch by drawing, painting, and inventing stories for your own superhero self portrait. 'Freeze Frame' with Ashley Sholtes. Learn to do the Robot and the Earthworm. Dance on the floor and raise the roof in this break-dance inspired class! Each weekly session features a different destination for the artistic time tourist. Participants will explore ideas of art and culture from Prehistoric times to the distant future, with exciting stops in between. Designed for children 6-12 years old. Meet new friends and take home artwork every week. There's downtown for snacks, stretching, games, and lunch. Pre-registration is required; call 386.423.1753. Sessions run June 9 through August 7.
